Something Fun!

Some of you may remember Genie. She was Pete's Jeep and was named in honor of Eugene the Jeep. Eugene the Jeep was a character in the Popeye comic strip in the 30s. The Jeep was born in 1940.

An excerpt from www.jeepin.com
"As for the name 'Jeep', no one really knows for sure where it came from. Some people believe that it evolved from the Ford 'GP' designation, which many think stood for 'general purpose', which is incorrect. The "G" was for Government and the "P" was the vehicle class (80" wheelbase 4x4 ¼ ton truck). Another possibility is that the name came from Popeye's magical sidekick named jeep, who could do almost anything."

Feel free to real more and see pictures of Eugene here:

I got to drive Genie sometimes. However, she remained Pete's girl. She moved to Bermuda three years ago. We have missed her terribly and decided it was time honor her memory with one of her offspring. Meet Genny the Jeep!! Genny is a good looking blue girl who seeks the attention of all other Wranglers and assists in the H2 recovery team whenever possible!
