Christmas Christmas

Pete and I had a whirlwind holiday that was fantastic. We were with Tom and JoAnn for Christmas Eve church and dinner then with my parents on Christmas day and again on the 27th to celebrate with Jordan and Sara. It is amazing to me what intelligent young people my nephew and niece have become. They are no longer babies or even kids- they are young adults. I have to say that the day we spent with them was one of the highlights of my holiday season. It was an abnormally warm day and we took to the yard to try out their new Frisbees. We had a great time, and Jordan even got to go up on the roof to retrieve one.

Our day took me back to when I was their age. My cousins and I would eat a massive meal prepared by babcia then head to the park to play some sport. I was the only girl and the youngest, so I had to convince them to let me play. I think that was half the fun. In the end, they always included me, and our time at the park ended up being the best part my holiday. Of course I did not know it then, it is only now that I look back and realize how precious that time was. If I learned anything this holiday season it is to savor every minute with family and friends this time is precious even if we don't see it that way now.
